Give dispatch the details that affect a tow
Share your precise location, direction of travel, vehicle make and model, and the problem you experienced. Describe anything that affects access or loading, such as a parking garage, a vehicle that will not shift, damaged wheels, or an attached trailer. Let the dispatcher determine which equipment and services are available.
Tell dispatch if the vehicle is an electric vehicle or has other handling requirements. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions and let the towing professional confirm the suitable transport method.
Confirm the destination and allowance
Ask where the vehicle can be taken, how the mileage allowance is measured, and what you would pay beyond it. A preferred shop may be outside the included distance. Ask about after-hours drop-off arrangements before choosing a destination.
Storage, recovery, special equipment, extra mileage, and repairs may be separate costs. Obtain an explanation of any charges before authorizing work. The allowance in your own program controls; a website example is not a promise for every member.
Do you arrange the tow yourself?
Contact the designated dispatch service before hiring a towing company unless your written terms expressly permit a different process. Paying independently does not automatically create a reimbursement right. If you have already paid, keep the itemized receipt and ask support to review your applicable terms.
While you wait
Follow emergency personnel and dispatch instructions. Give the provider a working callback number and update them if your location changes. Do not assume that all passengers can ride in the tow truck; ask about passenger arrangements.
