Roadside assistance

Locked your keys in the car? Start here.

If your keys are locked inside your vehicle, eligible roadside lockout assistance may help you regain access. Use the dispatch contact supplied with your All American Protection Plans enrollment and explain the situation before authorizing a separate locksmith.

First, check for an emergency

If a child, vulnerable person, or animal is trapped and in danger, call 911 immediately. Tell the operator where you are and follow their instructions. Routine roadside dispatch should not delay an emergency response.

Explain where the keys are

Tell dispatch whether the keys are visible inside, locked in the trunk, lost, or broken. These situations may require different services. Give the year, make, and model, and say whether you have a physical key or electronic fob. A dead fob battery may require a different approach from a key left inside.

Have identification and information showing your authority to access the vehicle available if requested by the provider. Do not post a photo of your identification or member number publicly to ask for help.

Confirm what the benefit includes

Basic access assistance is different from cutting a new key, replacing a fob, programming a transponder, repairing a lock, or transporting the vehicle. Ask which service is eligible, what limits apply, and whether you will owe a separate charge. Some vehicles may require a specialist.

Avoid an improvised entry attempt

Forcing the door or inserting makeshift tools can damage the vehicle. Wait in a safe location and follow the provider’s instructions. Ask dispatch for updates rather than relying on a promised arrival time from a general website; traffic, location, and provider availability vary.
